Nike Dunk High Varsity Maize

A legendary colorway...
Iowa, Goldenrod, Wu-Tang or just Black/Yellow in 1985, the combination of black and yellow on the Nike Dunk has a 35 year long history. Probably the most legendary color on the basketball silhouette imagined by Peter Moore, we wanted to pay tribute to it in our own way.
We bring together for the very first time in images the 1985, 99, 03 and 2020 versions. The Wu-Tang is the sample of the incredible pair who launched the cultural collaborations at the Swoosh brand. Difficult to imagine in 2020 as the collabs are legion but, in 1999, outside of sport, there is none (Rod Steward and Elton John had a model in their name but the story is not fully official).
The Nike Dunk Wu-Tang has been the dream of generations of sneakerheads, a holy grail among the grails, and it’s no wonder that Travis Scott chose it for some shoots. We wanted to reunite it with her big and little sisters to bring together the history of this Dunk like no other.
A mythical model, emblematic colors, all that was missing was one object to synthesize this story. The basketball was obvious and we therefore drew inspiration from those decades of Dunk to design our first ball.
