PSG x Air jordan 4

The NBA finals comes to an end and the football championships in Europe resume. Jordan Brand confirms its attachment to the Parisian club by producing a new collection for this football season. This time, the partnership goes even further since PSG will have a jersey stamped with the legendary Jumpman from the start of the season. Burgundy was chosen, the same as the Air Jordan VII Bordeaux. The result is an exclusive collection of clothing and of course sneakers.

The Air Jordan IV wears Paris Saint Germain new colors. The club logo is stamped on the heel and a small Paname label is sewn on the foot front. The infamous 75 appears behind the heel tab and the insoles display the "ICI C'EST PARIS" motto. Even the box is unique with the lawn interior design. All the details and materials make it really special.

We brought together fans of the capital's club to discuss football and sneakers.

- Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Hippolyte, I am the co-founder and manager of LINEUP (shop location: 5 Rue de Mulhouse, 75002 Paris)

After a school cursus in the world of clothing and textile production, and being a big fan of sport in general, this idea of bringing vintage pieces came naturally to us in September 2015 with my partner Antoine. Being both clothing enthusiasts, we realized that every time we went to thrift stores there wasn't much great football or basketball pieces.

We had this idea to find great items and offer them in a new way. We were then the first in France to open a digital store dedicated to vintage sports clothing on Instagram. It will also be 2 years since we’ve focused our store offer in order to offer a single product, which is VINTAGE FOOTBALL.

Today, both of us are working full time for LINEUP.

I manage the company and the brand as well as the product offer and Antoine takes care of managing the store as well as the sourcing with a great passion for Paris Saint-Germain.

- Who is your favorite PSG player ever?

Being Parisian and raised in Paris, Paris Saint-Germain is my team at heart and will remain so. My player is Pauleta.

- What do you think of this partnership between PSG and Jordan?

At first you are still puzzled, you wonder if these two sports can be fundamentally related and they are the two most popular ball sports in the world. So many people have been rocked by Michael Jordan and great footballers. This partnership keeps it real for both sports so this collaboration is a success and allows the Jordan Brand to enter the most popular sport in the world and the PSG to enter the world of fashion. This is a win-win.

- How do you like this Air Jordan IV?

It's a success, being myself a big fan of Air Jordan and especially of the first models with a preference for the 3 and 4. This Air Jordan IV is a credit to the flagship models, like the 2006 Military Blue which is one of the most beautiful ever for me. The color of Qatar is not the original colors of PSG but the details, finishes and materials used on this pair bring a very premium aspect to the Jordan x PSG range. To me, it is a success.

- What would be your dream final in the Champions League 2021?

A victory for Paris Saint Germain against FC Barcelona with a good 3-0 for PSG.

- Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Antoine, I'm 23, a PSG supporter since I was 13. This passion helps me a lot in my work because I am the CEO of Lineup, a vintage and collectable football shirt store. My job allows me to cultivate this passion on a daily basis and to talk about football in general with our community.

- Who is your favorite PSG player ever?

My favorite player, if I have to choose only one, would be Marco Verratti. This player is crazy and drives us crazy, he has incredible self-confidence, he does not lose the ball and has a vision of the game worthy of the greatest not to mention his defensive acts which will always surprise me. In addition, it has now been 9 years that he proudly wears the colors of the Parisian club. A longevity and consistency that is increasingly rare these days, loyal players like him are really few.

- What do you think of this partnership between PSG and Jordan?

The collaboration between PSG X JORDAN allowed us to reach an audience that we did not have, I am thinking more particularly of Asia or North America. The introduction of Jordan into the world of football also allowed us to move into another marketing world. We can now wear PSG clothing in everyday life without having a footballer look

- What do you think about this Air Jordan IV?

This is a model that I love a lot and that I could wear in everyday life, on top of that the chosen combo is simple but effective with sober colors. All details with PSG or Paris logos that sign the pair are simply perfect.

- What would be your dream final in the Champions League 2021?

Going to two consecutive Champions League finals would be quite exceptional. If I had to choose an opponent I would say F.C. Barcelona. A mini revenge, and for the score: victory on penalties, nothing more beautiful than the adrenaline of the last shot, a sort of victorious buzzer.

- Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Ruddy, I am digital talent and I am a fan of PSG.

- Who is your favorite PSG player ever?

I became a PSG aficionado thanks to my uncles who were supporters, they always told me it's PARIS, the rest you should forget about it. I love too many players after even if he didn't stay very long: Ronaldinho impressed me with his creativity (then it was the first club shirt I had in gray as an OPEL sponsor). Pauleta: a crazy striker and the one who allowed me to be able to be proud in front of all my friends who were against Paris. After that, I really like Kimpembe because he's a Titi who always wants to prove himself in every game (even if he had some big hiccups). He loves Paris and its supporters too much. Di Maria is my pal: he has zero days too, but when he feels good he becomes the most important player, assists, goals, dribbles, he's so great!

- What do you think of this partnership between PSG and Jordan? And this Air Jordan IV?

This partnership is so cool, I think when it comes to footwear the Air Jordan 4 is the best pair they've made in 3 years. Even if the choice of the colorway is "controversial" because it is a pair releasing during the club 50th anniversary, so many supporters would have liked to see the original colors of the club. With this design, these Jordans can be loved by everyone. Because PSG has become a brand, and many will buy this pair even without supporting the club. The pair is great, it's a 4 and I love it, the details are cool and they go with any outfit.

- What would be your dream final in the Champions League 2021?

Easy, I want revenge. PSG-Bayern 1-0 or 2-0.
